Schrack for Students

E-learning platform for Schrack Technik - digital textbooks, practice exercises, notes and exam mode for electrical engineering students and apprentices, completely rebuilt as app and web app.

The existing platform had reached its limits in performance and stability and no longer met Schrack Technik's requirements. The goal was a complete rebuild of app, web and backend during ongoing operation - including takeover and interim operation of the legacy system, data migration and a new exam mode. More than 20,000 students at over 100 partner schools were to experience the transition without interruption.

allaboutapps rebuilt the platform from the ground up: a cross-platform app in Flutter for iOS and Android replacing the previous .NET MAUI app, a web frontend in React/TypeScript and a cloud-native Go backend following clean architecture principles. The existing NEOS CMS was converted into a headless CMS connected to app and web via a middleware - enabling, among other things, streamed reading of textbooks, which was not available in the legacy system. Highlights, comments and notes sync across devices between app and web; the new exam mode for test and exam preparation was integrated based on the LeTTo API - including extended accessibility and offline reading of downloaded books.
