What to expect
The apprenticeship is aimed at young talent (ages 16-19) who want to turn their hobby into a profession. The majority of the program consists of real project work. At allaboutapps, "learning by doing" truly means something. From day one, you'll be guided by a senior developer who will give you the best possible introduction to the world of software development.
What you'll learn
During the app developer apprenticeship, you'll learn to
- develop intuitive iPhone apps,
- build modern Android apps,
- create performant web applications, and
- design scalable backends.
You'll accompany the app development process from the very first step - concept and design - all the way through to implementation and publication in the app stores. Together with your team, you'll work on client requirements and develop solutions using the latest technology.
You'll learn what it takes to deliver a software development project from start to finish. You'll work alongside project managers, designers, and other developers to contribute to some of the best apps on the market.
Long story short: you'll become a top developer!
What you need to bring
The apprenticeship at allaboutapps is designed for applicants starting from the 10th school year (ages 16-19) who have been involved in software development for two years or more - regardless of programming language. Ideally, you've already completed programming projects at your school (HTL or a program with a technical focus) or have been deeply engaged with the topic on your own.
Additional requirements for your application include a positive compulsory school diploma as well as good German and mathematics skills.
And last but not least, the most important thing you need to bring to the app developer apprenticeship: a passion for coding!
Compensation
The apprenticeship salary for the Application Developer - Coding position is EUR 929.00 gross per month. (As of 11/2025)
